Our Community
As the oldest school in Barrow, St. Paul’s C.E. Junior School is proud to have been at the centre of our community for more than 180 years. One of our core Christian values is community and so we place great emphasis of forming a community within our school, with our families, in our locality and in the world.
We want our families to be part of our community and we aim to forge good links between home and school from the moment you consider sending your child here. We also have regular events like HarvFest, our Christmas Fayre and our Summer Concert, where families can get involved and meet other members of our community.
We have close links with St. Paul’s Church, having collective worship there once a month and taking part in services such as our school Christingle service. Members of church are on our governing board and other church members come in to help with activities such as leading collective worship making our advent wreath.
Another of our core Christian values is Service and we like to serve our community in many ways such as singing at the ‘Light up a Life’ service at St. Paul’s Church for St. Mary’s Hospice, taking part in community planting at Barrow Town Hall, regular litter picks in our locality, raising money for local charities and singing at local care homes.
