Christian Values for Schools
Our Christian Values are at the centre of everything we do at Saint Paul’s CE Junior school. Each half term, we focus on a different Christian value. This is done explicitly through our Collective Worship time, but also throughout our wider curriculum. Children have regular opportunities to reflect upon each value and to develop an understanding of the Value in action.
Our visitors from St Paul’s church, Springmount Church and P.A.I.S team regularly lead our worship, to help reinforce our understanding of each value as they share stories from the bible. Children have opportunities to plan, prepare and lead worship for the whole school each half term.
The values we explore and strive to live by are:
- Trust
- Peace
- Friendship
- Forgiveness
- Endurance
- Thankfulness
- Reverence
- Koinonia
- Creation
- Service
- Hope
- Compassion
- Wisdom
- Humility
- Justice
During the academic year 2019-2020, we endeavoured to bring together our strong interest in both the Creative Arts and our Christian Values. We set about a project, across the school, to encourage children to create their own art canvases. The stunning, sillhouette images, designed and created by pupils, now take pride of place in our school hall. Our hope, is that upon seeing these works of art, all members of our school family are: reminded of the teachings of Jesus, reflective of the Christian values and strive further to live their life by them. We are immensely proud of the children’s hard work and dedication in completing this project, particularly our year 6 children, who now have a lasting legacy at the very heart of our school. We couldn’t be more proud!
